Practitioner pay and commission

Pay rules for each person, and what they earned for a period, with a CSV for payroll.

Where to find it

Reports → Pay. Only the owner can see it or change it.

Setting someone's pay rule

Under Pay rules, open a person and tick any mix of:

  • Commission: a percentage of their fees, either fees invoiced (what their completed visits were billed) or fees collected (only what has been paid so far).
  • A fixed amount for each visit, by service, with an amount for any other visit (leave it blank to pay nothing for other services).
  • An hourly rate, either for the hours in their diary (their working hours, less time off) or the hours of appointments they completed.

Then choose any rent or room fee to take off: a share of their fees, or a fixed amount a week, a month, a day worked or a visit. Press Save pay rule. Changing a rule changes every period you look at, past ones included, so download last month's CSV before changing it if you need a record.

What counts as fees

A visit's fees are its bill without any products sold at it (insoles and so on stay the clinic's), plus any funder's share under a case. If a bill is part-paid, collected fees are shared out in proportion. A funder's share counts as collected once its invoice is paid. Visits paid for with a treatment package session have no bill of their own, so they count as £0 in fees.

Reading the report

Choose the dates, or press Last month, This month, Last week or This week. Each person with a pay rule shows their completed visits in those dates (by visit date), their fees, commission, per-visit and hourly pay, deductions and total. A total in minus means the rent was more than they earned. Rent a week is shared over its seven days and rent a month over the days of each month, so a whole calendar month is exactly one month's rent.

Payroll

CSV for payroll downloads one row per person, with each part of their pay. Each visit downloads one row per visit (date, service, minutes, fees, commission and per-visit pay) so they can check it. Neither has any patient's name.
