Your own web address and email address

Your own web address

On the Practice plan, patients can book (and your team can sign in) at an address on your own domain, like book.yourclinic.co.uk. In Settings → Web address, type the address and press Use this address. Use a new subdomain such as book or portal, so your current website stays where it is; then point your website's "Book now" button at it. Your address on Hally keeps working too.

Adding the DNS record

You'll be shown a record to add (usually a CNAME). Add it where your domain's DNS is managed, which is often where you bought the domain (GoDaddy, 123-reg, Cloudflare, IONOS…), or ask whoever looks after your website. Copy the name and value exactly. DNS changes can take a few hours; press Check again, or leave it: it's checked every day, and the secure certificate is set up for you once it's verified. A domain that isn't verified within 14 days is removed, so you can add it again.

Emails from your own address

In the same place, enter your email domain (the part after the @, like yourclinic.co.uk) and the address to send from (like hello). You'll be shown a few records to add (TXT and MX) that let Hally send for your domain and sign your emails, so they're less likely to land in spam. Once they're verified, confirmations, reminders and receipts come from your address; until then they come from ours, in your clinic's name. Replies go to the reply-to address in Settings → Clinic & branding either way. If the records are ever removed, emails go back to our address straight away, so nothing fails to send.

Changing plan

Both need the Practice plan. On another plan, your platform address and our sending address are used instead; nothing is lost if you come back.
