Hally is launching soon. We’re not taking clinics just yet. Get early access

Appointments in Google Calendar

Each clinician’s diary on their phone, in their own Google calendar.

Connecting

In Settings → Integrations press Connect Google and sign in with the clinic's Google account (a Google Workspace admin account is easiest). Allow calendar access when Google asks. The same connection lets managers link Google Drive files (see "Company home and Google Drive files").

Choosing each clinician's calendar

Under Google Calendar, give each clinician's calendar: usually their own Google email address. The connected account needs permission to add events to it: in Google Calendar, the clinician opens Settings and sharing for their calendar, shares it with the connected account and chooses Make changes to events. In Google Workspace your administrator can do this for everyone. Leave someone empty to skip them.

What appears

Appointments from yesterday to three months ahead, within five minutes of being booked, moved or cancelled. Cancelled appointments disappear. It's one way: changing an event in Google doesn't change the diary, so always make changes in Hally.

Patients' names

By default an event says only "Appointment: Routine podiatry", so nothing about the patient is in Google. You can choose initials or the full name instead; if you do, add Google to your privacy notice and DPIA.

If it stops

If the password changes or access is removed, the Integrations page says so: connect again. If one calendar is wrong or not shared, the page says that too.
