Adding online booking to your website

Your booking link, a Book now button, a booking box, a QR code, and where bookings came from.

Keep your website

You don't need a new website. Settings → Book online gives you everything to bring patients from the website you have, your Google profile and social media into your online booking. Nothing there changes your website until you paste something into it.

Your booking link

The link to your booking pages, at your address on Hally (or your own web address, once it's set up in Settings → Web address). Press Copy and paste it anywhere: a menu item on your website, your Google Business Profile, Instagram and Facebook bios, emails and texts.

Links to one treatment, person, site or category

Under the main link are links that open booking already narrowed: one treatment (straight to its times), one practitioner (only what they offer, with them chosen), one site, or one category. Use them on the page about that treatment or person. Practitioners' and sites' links are made from their names, so if you rename someone, copy their link again.

Where bookings came from

Choose Where will you share it? before copying, and the link gets a short tag (like `?src=instagram`). New patients, bookings and enquiries that came through it are counted under that place in Reports, in the growth figures by where patients came from: Your website, Google search (Google Business Profile), Facebook and Instagram, Email, QR codes and print, or a name of your own (Somewhere else…, counted as Your other booking links). The button and booking box always count as Your website.

A Book now button

Choose the button's words, size, shape and style; it's in your main colour from Settings → Clinic & branding, with a live preview. Book over the page opens booking in a window over your website, so patients never leave it; Go to the booking page is a plain link, for website builders that don't allow scripts. Press Copy code and paste it where the button should go (see Adding the Book now button in Wix, Squarespace, WordPress or Shopify).

A booking box on a page

For a "Book online" page of your website: the booking pages sit inside your page and grow to fit them. Copy its code and paste it into the page. If the page blocks scripts, it shows a link to your booking page instead.

Try it

Try it at the bottom shows a sample web page with your button pasted in. Press the button and book as a patient would; nothing is booked unless you finish.

A QR code

Download the QR code as a PNG (for documents and social posts) or SVG (for printers, sharp at any size) for reception, leaflets, posters and business cards. It opens your booking page, and bookings from it count as QR codes and print.

Paying a deposit

When a patient books over your website and a deposit is due, the card payment opens in a new tab on the payment provider's secure page (it can't be shown inside another website). Their time is held while they pay, and they get the usual confirmation. Without a deposit, they book without leaving your page.

Is it safe?

Only your booking pages can be shown inside another website: staff screens, patient accounts and everything else can't, so nobody can disguise them inside their own site. Inside another website, booking never acts as a signed-in patient. The code is the same small script for every clinic, loaded from your booking address, and only opens your booking pages.

The set-up checklist

Copying a link or code, or downloading the QR code, ticks Add booking to your website and social media on the set-up checklist.
