Adding the Book now button in Wix, Squarespace, WordPress or Shopify

Where to paste the button, booking box or link in the common website builders.

Before you start

Copy the code from Book online: the Book now button or the booking box. If your website builder won't accept code, use a plain link instead: copy your booking link (with Your website chosen under Where will you share it?) and add it as a button or menu item in your builder. Website builders move their menus around, so the steps below say what to look for rather than exactly where it is.

Wix

In the Wix editor, add an Embed code element (under Add elements → Embed code → Embed HTML), choose Code, paste the code and press Update. Drag the box where you want the button, and make it big enough to show it. For the booking box, make the element tall (at least 800 pixels) on its own page. For a plain link, add a Wix button and set its link to your booking link. Publish when you're done.

Squarespace

Edit the page, add a block, and choose Code. Paste the code, make sure the code block is set to HTML (not Markdown or plain text), and save. Some Squarespace plans don't run scripts in code blocks: then choose Go to the booking page for the button, or add a Button block linking to your booking link. Publish the page.

WordPress

In the block editor, add a Custom HTML block where the button should go, paste the code and update the page. For a button in every page's header, add a Custom HTML widget to the header (Appearance → Widgets or the Site Editor), or add a menu item that links to your booking link. WordPress.com sites can only run scripts on plans that allow plugins; on other plans, choose Go to the booking page or use a Buttons block with your booking link.

Shopify

In Online Store → Themes → Customize, open the page or section, add a Custom Liquid (or Custom HTML) section or block, paste the code and save. For a link in the menu, go to Navigation, edit the main menu and add a menu item with your booking link.

Other website builders

Look for a block or element called HTML, Embed, Custom code or Code, and paste the code into it. If there isn't one, add a button or menu item and link it to your booking link. Anyone who looks after your website can paste the code for you: it's the same few lines on any website.

Checking it works

Open your website in a private window, press the button and check booking opens. If nothing happens, the builder may have removed the script: use Go to the booking page instead, which always works.
